| Mae'r Gwningen Gymreig (the Welsh Rabbit) yn ddawns Gymreig ffurfiol, fywiog sy'n seiliedig ar dôn o'r un enw. Fel sy'n arferol ar gyfer dawns Gymreig ffurfiol, mae'r ddawns yn gofyn am ganu'r alaw tair gwaith ac felly defnyddir ail dôn gyda'r un strwythur bar yr eilwaith drwyddi i gael amrywiaeth cerddorol i'r chwaraewyr a'r gwrandawyr. Yn yr achos hwn yr ail dôn yw Nantgarw, sydd fwy na thebyg yn fwy adnabyddus dan ei henw arall y Gaseg Eira. |
The Welsh Rabbit is a lively formal Welsh dance based on the tune of the same name. As is the normal practice for a formal Welsh dance, the dance requires three cycles of the tune so an alternative tune with the same bar structure is normally played for the second cycle to include some musical variety for the players and listeners. In this case the second tune is Nantgarw, probably better known under its other name y Gaseg Eira (The Snow Mare). |
