This set of
slip jigs is based the Pwt ar y
bys set which was one of the first to be presented
in this collection in February 2011. Naid in Welsh is a leap and is used as the adjective instead of slip in English, so slip jig in Welsh is jig naid. Neidio is the verb form, so we have Pwt ar Naid is the slip jig version of Pwt ar y bys, Neidio'r Pant for Pant Corlan yr Ŵyn and Naid y Delyn for Y Delyn Newydd. This timing amendment demonstrates that most tunes can be adapted to the 3 beats of triplets in a bar of a slip jig. In this case, we have three tunes, each of three threes! |
