y set polcas yma i Sesiwn Caerdydd dryw'r crythor adnabyddus Robert
Evans sydd â phrofiad blynyddoedd lawer yn archwilio a chyflwyno ein
hen alawon, yn estyn yn ôl i'r canol oesoedd. Mae'r alawon hyn yn tarddu o'r tu allan i Gymru ond mae teimlad Cymreig iddynt y mae dehongliad Bob yn cyflwyno, yn yr un modd a byddai wedi digwydd yn y cyfnodau cynt pan oedd pobl ac alawon yn teithio dros Ynysoedd Prydain ac Ewrop. Y cyfansoddwr Pugni ysgrifennodd yr alaw wreiddiol, ond rhydd fersiwn Bob newidiad cywair anarferol i gywair C yn y drydydd rhan sydd wedi'i ychwanegu. |
This set of polkas came to the Cardiff Session through the playing of Robert Evans, the leading exponent of the old Welsh Crwth and fount of knowledge on Welsh music extending back to the middle ages. All of these tunes originate from outside Wales; nevertheless they have a Welsh feel which Bob's interpretation gives to them, just as would have happened in past times when tunes and peole travelled across the British Isles and Europe. The original Polca Redowa is attributed to Pugni, but Bob's has a novel key change to C, the Subdominant key in an added third section. |
