Cyfansoddwyd
y ddawns boblogaidd hon a'i halaw gan y diweddar Cecily Howells,
arweinydd ysbrydoledig Dawnswyr Werin Glan Cleddau o Hwlffordd i goffáu
agoriad Pont Cleddau ym 1975 i gysylltu gogledd a de Sir Benfro. Mae'r pedwar ffigur cyntaf yn dangos gwahanol gamau yn ei adeiladu ac mae'r ffigurau terfynol yn dangos y dŵr sy'n lapio o amgylch yr ategwaith. Mae gan alaw y ddawns 32 bar ac mae angen ei chwarae ddwywaith i fynd drwy'r ddawns sydd â 64 bar unwaith. Rhoddir dau ddewis am ail alaw'r ddawns; mae gan y naill 32 bar, ac felly dylid dewis un i'w chwarae ddwywaith neu gellid chwarae'r ddau unwaith yr un cyn dychwelyd i chwarae'r brif alaw dwywaith i gwblhau'r trydydd tro drwy'r ddawns. Mae'r ffeil sain arddangos ar gyfer y set yn chwarae pob alaw unwaith yn unig. |
This
popular dance and its title tune were composed by the late Cecily Howells who led the Haverfordwest based Dawnswyr Werin Glan Cleddau. It commemorates the
opening of the Cleddau Bridge in 1975 to link the north and south of
Pembrokeshire. The first four figures depict different stages in its construction and the final figures show some water lapping around the abutments. The title tune for the dance has 32 bars and needs to be played through twice to go through the 64-bar dance once. Two possible alternatives for the second time through the dance are given below; each has 32 bars, so the chosen one should be played twice or the two could be played once each before returning to the main tune to complete the third time through the dance. The demonstration sound file for the set plays each tune just once. |
