| Roedd Llewelyn
Alaw, Thomas
David Llewelyn yn delynor gwerin blaenllaw yng nghanol y 19eg ganrif,
yn byw yn Aberdâr. Mae'n enwog am yr ystod eang o alawon gwerin sydd yn
ei gasgliad eang a enillodd wobr yn yr Eisteddfod Genedlaethol a
gyflwynwyd wedyn i Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru yn Aberystwyth. Cafodd
ei alawon eu chwarae a'u cyhoeddi yn ddiweddarach yn yr 20fed ganrif
gan selogion fel Robin Huw Bowen a Iolo Jones. Mae nifer o'r alawon o'r casgliad hwn eisoes wedi'u cynnwys ar y wefan hon, yn ymwneud yn bennaf â'i ardal, fel Polca Cefn Coed, Gorymdaith Gwŷr Cyfarthfa a Walts Hwngaria. |
Llewelyn
Alaw,Thomas David Llewelyn was a leading folk harpist in the mid
19th century and lived in Aberdare. He is famous for the wide range of
folk harp tunes that he collected in his Eisteddfod-winning collection
which was lodged in the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth to be
rediscovered, played and published
in the later part of the 20th century by
enthusiasts like Robin Huw Bowen and Iolo Jones. A number of the tunes from this collection are already included in this website, mostly relating to his locality, such as Polca Cefn Coed, Gorymdaith Gwŷr Cyfarthfa and Walts Hwngaria. |
