| Dyma set sy'n addas iawn i'r delyn ac felly mae cyfeiliant mwy manwl amdani wedi'i gynnwys. Alaw urddasol sy'n ddwys a thrist yw Ymadawiad y Brenin, mewn cywair lleddf ond mae'n codi gyda gobaith i'r cywair mwyaf yn yr ail ran cyn dychwelyd yn ôl i'r lleiaf ar y diwedd. Defnyddir yr alaw hon fel arfer i gyfeiolio i orymdaith derwyddau'r Orsedd yn yr Eiseddfod Cenedlaethol. Atgyfodwyd cysyniad Gorsedd y Beirdd a' gorymdaith y Derwyddon gan Iolo Morgannwg yn gynnar yn y 19eg ganrif. Mae Llety'r Bugail yn alaw orymdeithio sy'nboblogaidd mewn priodasau fel gorymdaith y briodferch ac mae sawl fersiwn ohoni ar YouTube. Mae fersiwn byrrach, gan ddefnyddio dim ond rhan A o'r alaw, wedi'i chynnwys yn set Hiraeth (Mai 2014), yn y casgliad hwn. Yma, mae'r adran B yn mynd i'r lleddf cyn dychwelyd i'r cywairi mwyaf. Mae amrywiad arpeggio wedi'i gynnwys hefyd. |
This is good set for the harp and a fairly detailed accompaniment is included. Ymadawiad y Brenin (The King's departure) is a dirge in the minor key but rising with hope into the major in the second part before returning to its sombre beginnings. This typically Welsh tune is used for the procession of the Gorsedd pf bards, druids of the National Eiseddfod selected because of their services to Wales. The order was resurrected by Iolo Morgannwg early in the the 19th century. Llety'r Bugail (the Shepherd's Shelter) is a lovely processional tune popular at weddings and there are several versions of it up on YouTube. A shorter version, using only the A part of the tune, is included in the Hiraeth set (May 2014), in this collection. Here, the B section goes into the minor before returning to the major. An arpeggio-based variation is also included. |
