amseriad, gyda phedwar grŵp o 3 curiad, maent yn aml yn cael eu
hysgrifennu mewn ffurf sy'n haws i'w ddarllen, sef amser 4/4.
Wrth chwarae nodau'r alaw sydd wedi'u cynrychioli fel hyn, mae'r alaw
yn colli'r sgip ac yn fwy tebyg i rîl neu ymdaith. Dyna sut y cynrichiolir Pibddawns Heol y Felin a Phibddawns Dowlais yn setiau cynt yn y gyfres yma ond yn y setrhwn maent yn cael eu chanu fel pibddawnsiau. Cychwynna'r set gyda Phibddawns y Navi sydd yn un o alawawon sipsiwn Robin Huw Bowen. Dysgodd fersiwn Sipsiwn Cymreig wrth wrando a gwylio ar Eldra Jarman, yr olaf o dras enwog telynorioin Sipsiwn y Robertses, olynion John Roberts, Telynor Cymru a'i gydnabyddir yn Delynor Cymru yn y 19fed ganrif. Dathlwyd dauganmlwyddiant ei enedigaeth yn 2016. |
Hornpipes
run with a skip which is more accurately represented by writing them in
12/8
time: four groups of three beats. They are often written in common
time to make them easier to read, with the skip in the rhythm taken for
granted. If played as written from a straight
common-time score, the tune becomes a reel or march. Pibddawns Heol y Felin (Mill Street) and Pibddawns Dowlais appear in this form in earlier sets in this sreries and play as reels but in this set they are played with the hornpipe skip. The set starts with Pibddawns y Navi (The Navvie's Hornpipe) which has been poplularised by Robin Huw Bowen. He learned the Welsh Gypsy harp version from Eldra Jarman, the last in the line of the renown family of John Roberts, Telynor Cymru (Harpist of Wales) The 200th anniversary of his birth was celebrted in 2016. |
